Bryant sits just north of the University of Washington and is overflowing with the old, the new, and something blue. Charming 1920's Seattle bungalows, craftsman and tudors decked with crown moulding, classic lead windows, pocket doors and daylight basements. The history of Bryant goes back to 1918 when it was basically a quiet farmland and woodland area. Like other Northeast Seattle neighborhoods, sawmills eventually ran at full capacity which brought hundreds of workers, and thus their families and school students.  In 1923 portables were erected to accommodate more students. In 2001, Bryant Elementary school was recognized as a Seattle City Landmark. To this day, Bryant Elementary and the Bryant neighborhood are known for great schools and a strong community for learning, teaching, and children.

You might also hear Bryant called Ravenna-Bryant because of the close proximity to the Ravenna Park and the Ravenna neighborhood.
